Family policies

Photos of your child

We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.

In the pool, and watching

An instructor is in the water with every swimmer. An adult from your family stays on the deck for the whole lesson and watches from a shaded seat.

What to wear and bring

A swim shirt is welcome in every lesson. Bring a towel for each swimmer, goggles if the swimmer likes them, and a cap or a hair tie for long hair. We bring the boards and noodles.

When to keep your child home

Please keep a swimmer home with a fever, a stomach illness or a rash, and until they feel well again. Tell us and we will make up the lesson.

Heat, weather and holidays

On very hot evenings we start later. Lightning or strong wind ends a lesson, and we text families when we move or cancel one, and make it up. We close on national holidays.

Stopping lessons

We ask for a week's notice before a swimmer stops, by text, phone or email. We will talk through any lessons left in the session.

Phones at the pool

Please keep phones away from the water's edge during a lesson. The adult on the deck watches the swimmer, not the screen.

Brothers, sisters and friends

Other children at your home wait in the shade with the adult on the deck, away from the water's edge, until it is their turn. Please keep guests out of the pool during a lesson.
