At your pool

What your family provides

We bring the teaching, the boards and the noodles. You bring the pool and a few things around it.

  • A gate and a fence

A barrier your family keeps closed between lessons and during them. Your family follows its own local pool rules.

  • A shady spot

Somewhere to sit before and after the lesson, out of the evening sun.

  • An adult on the deck

An adult from your family stays at the pool for the whole lesson, with phones away from the water's edge.

  • Towels and a swim shirt

A towel for each swimmer, a swim shirt if you like one, and goggles if the swimmer likes them.

Where we teach

Pools from Boulder City to the south valley

We book evenings by neighborhood, so an instructor can teach several pools in one part of the valley.

  • Southeast valley: Boulder City, Henderson, Anthem, Green Valley · Weekday evenings and Saturdays
  • South valley: Enterprise, Paradise, Whitney · Weekday evenings

We don't teach north of Sahara Avenue.

How lessons start

  1. 01

    Step 1: Get in touch

Call or text (702) 555-0114, or write to us. Tavita or Ericka answers within a day and asks for the swimmer's age and the evenings that suit your family.

  2. 02

Step 2: A first visit at your pool

An instructor comes to your pool, meets the swimmer on the steps and gets in the water. We see how the swimmer moves, choose a level and look at the gate and the deck with you.

  3. 03

    Step 3: Register

Register on our enrollment page. We ask there, privately, for what we need, and the lessons go on the calendar.

  4. 04

    Step 4: The first lesson

We arrive a few minutes early, check the gate and the deck with you, and start in the shallow end at the swimmer's pace.

For adults

Adult lessons, after work

Evenings suit adults too. A private lesson at your own pool means no lane to share and no one watching.

Starting at the shallow end

For adults who never learned, or who want to feel at ease in the water again. We begin on the steps with breathing and floating with support.

Breathing and strokes

Side breathing, kicking and arm pulls, one stroke at a time, with the instructor beside you at the wall.

An adult in a plain swim cap and goggles pulling to the wall at the end of a lap

Laps and technique

For adults who already swim and want smoother laps: turns at the wall, breathing patterns and kick sets.

Questions from families

How does a first visit work?

An instructor comes to your pool, meets the swimmer on the steps and gets in the water. We see how the swimmer moves, talk about what you would like, and choose a level together.

What does my family need to provide?

A pool with a gate and fence that stay closed, a shady spot, and an adult from your family on the deck for the whole lesson. Your family follows its own local pool rules, and we don't inspect pools.

Where do I watch?

From the deck, in the shade. An instructor is in the water with every swimmer, and an adult from your family stays on the deck for the whole lesson.

How long is a lesson?

A lesson is thirty minutes in the water. A session is six weeks, with one or two lessons a week.

What if it is very hot or the weather turns?

On very hot evenings we start later. Lightning or strong wind ends a lesson, we text you, and we make it up.

How does tuition work?

Tuition depends on the level, whether a lesson is private or semi-private, and how many lessons a week a swimmer takes. Our current figures are on the enrollment page.
